My bf’s friend is friends with the Delfina folks and I heard they’re opening a new location in Pacific Heights. It’s supposed to be the same concept and hopefully bigger. The original location is next to their restaurant in the Mission. The pizza is thin crust with simple, fresh toppings. The menu isn’t too complicated but just like their restaurant – great food made with simple ingredients.
Here’s my review on Delfina Restaurant. Highly recommend checking out either one. Be sure to call ahead for reservations for the restaurant. The pizzeria is a first come, first serve basis and in this chilly weather, not sure how long you can take waiting outside!
Delfina is definitely moving into my top 5. I’m frustrated and amazed that they continue to be packed, any night of the week. The last 3 times I’ve been there, I’ve had to make a reservations 1-2 months in advance. It’s crazy how busy they are but once you go, you’ll understand why. I tend to not stray from their signature dishes. My bf and I now have our ordering down to a science. We may or may not get a salad but we always get the spaghetti and the fulton valley chicken. The chicken is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. And I know what you’re thinking…spaghetti? Really? This is no joke. Don’t be fooled by the other pastas even though the papardelle is pretty good. Go straight for the full size order of spaghetti – no sharing! Trust me, I’ve attempted to share and once you get this plate of goodness in front of you, you don’t want to spare one noodle! A portion of my eating pleasure goes to dissecting the spaghetti. How do they make it so good?? I know there are probably about 5 ingredients and I need to know their secret! Just writing about it makes me want to call and make a reservation…
One last fun tip – stop by BiRite Creamery Store after to pick up a pint of ice cream! My favorite is the Toffee coffee crunch…yummmms
